The Silver Surfer gains the Infinity Gauntlet, making him God of this universe. He slowly becomes obsessed with the power, deciding to turn reality into paradise.
Before the surfer is completely corrupted by the gauntlet, he changes Death into an elegant being. She becomes an "alluring guide to a higher plane." "cherished not feared."
He then summons his love, Shalla Bal, and gives her omnipotence as well. She holds on to her basic decency and convinces the Surfer to give up the power.
